Introduction to Zmanda Endpoint Backup

Zmanda Endpoint Backup has two main components: Zmanda Sentinel and the desktop agent.

Zmanda Sentinel is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that serves as the gateway to accessing Zmanda Endpoint Backup. It is through this platform that all backup and administrative tasks are performed. Users can utilize Zmanda Sentinel to initiate backups, configure settings, manage storage, and perform other essential backup-related activities.

The desktop agent is a software application installed on individual endpoint devices. This agent plays a crucial role in providing real-time updates and notifications regarding the status of backups and restores. It keeps users informed about the progress of backup and restore operations and also delivers alerts in cases where backups or restores are paused, or when files infected with ransomware are detected.
